Port of Everett increases security personnel at Marine Terminals
The increased activity at the Port of Everett's marine terminals has resulted in the Port hiring three additional security officers.
Michael DeBaecke has been hired as the Port of Everett's full-time marine terminals security officer, and Alex Henderson and Jon Campbell will work the terminals part-time.
DeBaecke, who has more than 20 years of security experience, will be responsible for ensuring visitors remain out of unauthorized areas, perform regular office, property and parking lot checks, assist staff in case of an emergency and keep Port management informed of all emergencies or other incidents involving security. The part-time officers will perform similar duties, and fill in for DeBaecke and other full-timers in their absence.
"We are so busy now, it's gotten to a point where we need full-time security coverage on our waterfront," said Ed Paskovskis, deputy director of the Port of Everett. "With Michael's qualifications, I know he will be a perfect fit for the job."
Prior to coming to the Port of Everett, DeBaecke worked as a security supervisor for Northwest Loss Prevention performing duties such as security, customer service and dispatch.
