Port issues FEIS on North Marina Redevelopment
The Port of Everett issued its Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for Everett's North Marina on May 27.
The FEIS includes responses to 60 written and verbal comments the Port received during the comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which was released March 24.
"We received a lot of great feedback on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the North Marina Redevelopment," said John Mohr, executive director of the Port of Everett. "With the issuance of the Final EIS, we are now able to present the development alternatives to the Port Commission, and move forward with permitting after an alternative has been selected."
The Port has scheduled a public meeting and a public hearing on the development alternatives for the North Marina. The first public meeting with Port staff is on June 2 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the public hearing is on June 7 at 9 a.m.; both are being held at the Marine View Conference Center, located at 404 14th Street. The Port Commission is scheduled to select a preferred alternative on June 14.
Copies of the FEIS can be obtained free of charge on CD ROM at the Port office at 2911 Bond Street, Everett or on the website. A copy of the FEIS is also available at the Everett Public Library, located at 2702 Hoyt Avenue, Everett, and the Mukilteo Public Library, located at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd., Mukilteo. Bound documents are also available at the Port office for a charge. The Final EIS costs $15, the Appendices (unchanged from the DEIS) cost $35, and responses to comments cost $10. All three documents can be purchased for $50.
