Port hires second Marina Maintenance Apprentice
The Port of Everett is pleased to announce the hiring of Brian Bakken as one of its Marina Maintenance Apprentices.
Bakken comes to the Port from George Broom’s Sons in Seattle, where he worked as a Rigger since 1991. He has also been a part-time Longshoreman for the Port of Seattle ILWU Local 19.
Bakken worked as a commercial fisherman in the mid 80’s to 90’s, and brings many years of Maritime experience to the Port, where he will be a great addition to the Marina maintenance staff.
His duties as a maintenance apprentice will include; operation of marina and marine terminal equipment, performing landscape maintenance tasks and carpentry, woodworking and welding assignments, as well as others.
