Port Hires New Marine Terminals Manager

Post Date:07/27/2004

The Port of Everett is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Scott Grindy as the new Manager for its Marine Terminals.

"Scott brings many years of supervision and management experience to the Port, which makes him a great fit for the job," said Carl Wollebek, the Port's Marine Terminals Director.

Grindy, an Everett resident, started at the Port on July 19. He is the former Director of Facilities at the University of Washington and Cascadia Community College Campus in Bothell. Grindy says he is looking forward to the challenges and the unique work environment that will come with his new position.

"There is so much growth coming at the Port, and it's an exciting time to be starting here," Grindy said. His job as Marine Terminals Manager will entail the direction and coordination of operations at the Port's three Marine Terminals, and the oversight of Marine Terminal Security.

Previous to his job in Bothell, Grindy worked as Director of Campus Services at Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, and has been a HAZMAT and facility instructor for many years. He earned his Associates Degree from North Seattle Community College and his Vocational Certification from the University of Washington.

The Port is glad to have Grindy on board, and he's excited to be here, saying, "I am looking forward to working in the community that I live in."
