Public Affairs Manager
McChesney Hired at Port Angeles
Port of Everett Property and Development Director Bob McChesney has been named Executive Director at the Port of Port Angeles, effective August 1.
"I'm excited to have this opportunity, and for the challenges ahead," said McChesney, who added that both the timing and fit of the position were right for him.
The Port of Port Angeles decided to hire McChesney after a candidate selection process in Port Angeles. McChesney's new position will entail the oversight of marine terminals, a marina, an airport and industrial properties.
McChesney said that although he is very pleased to have landed the Port Angeles job, he is sad to leave the Port of Everett after 13 years, as well as his friends and the community.
Before coming to the Port of Everett in 1991, McChesney worked at the Port of Longview as an assistant to the Executive Director.
After McChesney addressed the Commission on Tuesday for the final time, Port Commission President Don Hopkins thanked McChesney for his work in Everett, saying, "The Port will miss Bob's expertise. We wish him all the best in Port Angeles."
