Project Title
Jetty Landing Boat Launch Maintenance Dredging

Strategic Initiative
Enhancing Public Access

Project Location Map
A drawing of the Jetty Landing Boat Launch Dredging project at the Port of Everett. This drawing shows where the proposed dredging will be.

Purpose
The project includes planning, permitting, design and construction of Maintenance Dredging for the Jetty Landing Boat Launch basin to -10 feet elevation (MLLW) + 2 feet of over-dredge to allow for continued use of the public boat launch.

The Port recognizes the importance of maintaining this valued community asset.  However, as sediment accumulation at the launch has increased over the years, the cost of performing the maintenance has also increased.  The ever increasing complexity of the regulatory agency review process adds to the costs of maintaining the launch.

Desired Outcome
Maintaining viable depths at the boat launch. The Port is actively working with our partners to identify secure funding sources to keep this asset fully functional.

Timeline
Engineering design is complete and permits to dredge have been obtained.  Construction implementation is dependent on the outcome of negotiations with the City of Everett and Snohomish County on financial participation in construction costs. Dredging is targeted for after Labor Day 2019.

Project Cost
Approx. $840,000
