The Perfect Launch
*check tides before launching
Begin a fun day on the water at the Port of Everett public boat launch – your gateway to the North Puget Sound - located at 10th Street & West Marine View Drive in Everett.
Even on the busiest day, this 13-lane launch offers quick and easy access to abundant crabbing and fishing. The facility accommodates all boating needs ranging from small power boats to kayaks, provides an ADA accessible lane and ample truck and trailer parking. On a seasonal basis a variety of service offerings are available on-site including grab and go snacks, bait, tackle and more.
Boat Launch Dredging Update:
In recent years, extreme weather events along with historical shifts in Snohomish River flow have caused major increases in siltation at and around the boat launch area – so much so, that a sandbar has formed between the boat launch basin and the Snohomish River federal navigation channel. This area is not owned or maintained by the Port or the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who maintains the river channel. At times boaters launch with no issue but then get stuck in the sandbar.
The Port is actively working with launch co-owners, City of Everett and Snohomish County, and river partners to get to the point of dredging at the launch, but most importantly, the mounting issues around the launch must first be resolved to ensure the public dredging investment provides value. Essentially, if these issues are not resolved, but the launch is dredged, the sandbar will remain a shoaling risk and the increased river flow will continue, resulting in instant siltation of the launch. The Corps recently completed a river flow analysis, which with help to inform the long-term decision, but we need the area dredged now, so the Port is working hard to secure an emergency authorization from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge this fall.
We are making headway toward the solution and hope to have more information to share soon. In the meantime, we urge boaters to launch with care and consideration of depths by checking tides at anticipated departure and return times.
