Port Commissioner Glen Bachman Takes Office Following Re-election to District 3 Seat

Everett, Wash. — This month, Port Commissioner Glen Bachman took office for his second term of service to continue representing the citizens of Port District 3.
Bachman, who ran uncontested in the November general election, was re-elected to serve a six-year term.
“I am honored and humbled that you have placed your trust in me,” Bachman said during the ceremony. “With your trust, I will work tirelessly on your behalf to carry out the Port’s Strategic Plan that develops a balanced waterfront. This is an action that includes public access, public use, economic opportunities, international maritime expansion and environmental stewardship. I will address challenges, and secure lasting and meaningful improvements to your quality of life.”
Commissioner Bachman, a U.S. Army veteran, draws on more than 35 years of retail and asset management experience with nearly a decade as General Manager (GM) of the Everett Mall, and 24 years with Kemper Development as Vice president of Operations and Administration for Bellevue Square, Lincoln Square and Bellevue Properties. His vast experience includes lease administration, assembly and the administration of operating budgets, including capital expense projects, contract negotiation and administration. Prior to his time with Kemper Development, Bachman was GM and regional operations at Frederick & Nelson department stores.
He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Eastern Washington University, with continued studies in asset management. He is a current member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a board member of the Washington Retail Association, a member of the ICSC Government and Public Policy Committee, a board member of the Puget Sound Regional Council and of the Greater Seattle Partners, and served as the designated broker for Steadfast Properties in Washington.
Bachman has served on the Port Commission for nearly seven years, first being appointed by the Port Commission in August 2013 with the resignation of former Port Commissioner Michael Hoffman, followed by an election by the citizens to serve in the seat effective November 2013.
District 3 encompasses portions of the waterfront between north and south Everett, portions of the north Mukilteo waterfront and stretches east to the Snohomish River.
